Jessica Watson was just an ordinary girl seven months ago. But last Saturday, she was given a heroes welcome as the 16-year old sailor completed her global sail in her 34-foot yacht, the Pink Lady.

After 210 days of sailing around the world — SOLO,  Jessica Watson’s voyage ended in a dramatic fashion as tens of thousands of cheering spectators and hundreds of boats turned out to welcome her home to Australia’s Sydney Harbor.

Overwhelmed by the turn out of people all eager to welcome her home, Jessica said “I haven’t seen a person for almost seven months and suddenly there’s just people everywhere — you know, faces, so much color, so much noise, so much everything,” she told a news conference. “All I’ve seen for so long is empty waves, so it was amazing and very overwhelming. At the same time, I achieved what I set out to.”

Included in those who welcomed her home was Prime Minister Kevin Rudd who called her “our newest Australian hero” minutes after she stepped onto the pink carpet that well-wishers rolled out for her -- her legs still wobbly after so long at sea.

But Jessica was modest, in spite of her achievement, and boldly said she disagreed with what the Prime Minister said, referring to her as a hero.

“I’m an ordinary girl who believed in her dream,” she said

Unfortunately, her achievement is not without controversy, and it is being contested. But controversy or not, her feat is definitely noteworthy and has inspired a lot of people to work hard in achieving their dream.

Since I am not really frequenting the “men’s world” of women models and sexy stars, the name Kendra Wilkinson doesn’t really ring a bell. But from what I gather in the news, Kendra Wilkinson was a former Playboy Playmate, have posed nude in photos and was once a live-in girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

So, is it surprising now that she has a sex tape, and this would be released this month by Vivid Entertainment.

Kendra Wilkinson is fighting to stop the release of the sex tape which was said to have been made before she became famous.

In her attempt to stop the release of the sex video, Kendra’s lawyer Yael E. Holtkamp has written to the company telling them to “cease and desist” making the footage public.

“The video is private and highly confidential taken for private use and not for public disclosure,” a letter to Vivid Entertainment apparently reads. “Any exploitation of the video would be a gross violation of Miss Wilkinson’s constitutional and common law rights of privacy.”

However, Vivid CEO and founder Steve Hirsch is convinced his company has the legal right to bring it out.

He said: “After reviewing our legal position we remain confident of our right to distribute the video. Thus Vivid.Com plans to release Kendra Exposed within the next several weeks.”

It looks like Kendra Wilkinson, who is now married to American footballer Hank Baskett with whom she has a four-month old son named Hank Bakett IV, will be losing the legal.

Demi Moore is once again on the top of engine searches this week, and she did not even do anything to merit a massive international search for Demi Moore’s pictures.

Thanks to someone who resurrected the Demi Moore Bush keyword, now the whole web is going frenzy searching for Demi Moore, Demi Moore Pictures, Demi Moore Bush, and what-have-you. And it has nothing to do with Demi Moore meeting George Bush.

That someone was Comedy Central’s Daniel Tosh who started it all in his Internet-based show “Tosh.o” where he told his viewers to Google the keywords “Demi Moore George Bush” and suggested to remove the George.

And if you do just that, you will be lead to a search page where a blog post dated back in 2005 tops the list. It was a post from :Gray Matters where a photo of Demi Moore from the 80’s is shown in a pose that can be tagged NSFW: full frontal, wide spread with her bush for the whole world to see.

A word of warning though: Now that that the Demi Moore Bush has set a hot trending topic, virus creators will sure jump on the bandwagon to take a hitch in this widespread frenzy. Be warned and be weary.

Singer Erykah Badu was cited for disorderly conduct for stripping in her music video Window Seat, which she said was taken “shot guerrilla style” – no crew, and in one take.

A misdemeanor charge awaits Badu for her naked stroll through downtown Dallas, Texas while shooting her video. In the music video, the singer took off her clothes one by one while walking through Dealey Plaza, until she was completely naked, and then fell near where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Authorities said they wanted to press charges against her because there were children on the street then, but no one had called police or filed a complaint on that day.

But now, the Dallas police said they have their witness. One of the witnesses came to them, which lead to the filing of charges against Badu. She will be cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

“After much discussion, it has been determined that this charge best fits her conduct when she disrobed in a public place without disregard [sic] to other individuals and children who were in close proximity,” the police statement said. If convicted, Badu could be fined $500, police said.

“It will be up to her as to how she wants to proceed further with this case,” police said. “She can contest it in a court of law or simply pay the fine.”

The singer, and her representatives, refused to comment on the subject.

Reigning Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 title holder Maria Venus Raj was stripped of her crown by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) because of nationality issues.

BPCI issued a statement saying that it “decided with a heavy heart, to let Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go after the organization discovered inconsistencies in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth.”

Based on her birth certificate, Raj’s was born in Camarines Sur, while both she and her mother claimed that she was born in Doha, Qatar.

Vincent Raj, her father, was registered as a Catholic Filipino in the birth certificate. It was however discovered that he is an Indian national and is not married to her mother.

BPCI acknowledges that Raj’s birth certificate is authentic, however, the information contained therein were fabricated. It was filed three years after Venus birth by her mother’s cousin who was then an employee at the civil registrar’s office.

Raj will be replaced by 2nd Runner-up Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Nicolette Henson who will represent the Philipines in the 2010 Miss Universe. First runner-up Dianne Necio was not chosen because she is not yet qualified to join the international pagent. Necio is only 17 years old, and the Miss Universe pageant has a qualifying age requirement of 18.

Henson, who was surprised at the sudden turn of events that led to her becoming the country’s representative in the Miss Universe, was saddened by what happened to Raj, whom she said is her close friend.

She defended her from critics by pointing out that even the BPCI clarified that Raj “had no malicious intent.”

She however promised to do her best when she represents the country in the prestigious competition.

Henson is a 21-year old Broadcast Journalism major at St. Scholastica’s College and hails from Pampanga.

Her name is Erykah Badu and she is naked in her music video Window Seat.

Erykah Badu sheds her clothes off as she walked a sidewalk in Dallas, Texas until she reached the site where President Kennedy was assassinated and fell there.

This was in the controversial video for her song “Window Seat,” which according to the singer was shot “guerrilla style.” There were no crew and all done in one take on March 17.

There were even children nearby, as seen on the video, who saw her stripped as she walked towards the site of Kennedy’s assassination.

As expected, there were mixed reaction to her controversial video when it was released. Some condemn it, while some praise it.

There were no immediate response from the singer’s management when asked for comment, but Badu responded to the controversy via Twitter. She tweeted that “there were children there. i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized.”

The R&B singer said she was making a statement against “groupthink,” which she tweeted was an “unwritten rule” that “i will not express my true opinion if it opposes those i love and fear.”

Many would be surprised on the news that pop star singer Ricky Martin admits he’s gay. The singer declared it publicly this week, in his website and wrote, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man, I am very blessed to be who I am.”

The singer finally confirmed what he avoided discussing for years. It was about a decade ago when ABC’s Barbara Walters pressed Martin to address the rumors on his sexuality, but he declined to confirm or deny them, saying “I just don’t feel like it.”

But now, the singer wrote, “these years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.”

Ricky Martin started off with the Latin boy band Menudo before launching his solo career in 1991. His song “Livin’ La Vida Loca” propelled him to stardom as it rose to the top of the music charts in 1999.

The 39-year old singer said he decided “not to share the entire truth” to the world because he was warned by people he love that “everything you’ve built will collapses.”

“Today,” the singer wrote, “I take full responsibility for my decisions and my actions.”

His decision to come out was initiated when he began writing his memoirs a few months ago, he said.

“From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time,” he wrote. “Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside.”

He said that disclosing his secret is important because of his two sons, born via surrogate. “To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where born with,” he wrote.

He knew things might change,  but the singer couldn’t care less. “What will happen from now on? It doesn’t matter. I can only focus on what’s happening to me in this moment.”

Yes, many would be surprise. But I’m sure his fans can still accept him and music despite his confession.

Lady Gaga would always find her way in the headlines… in more ways than one.

This time, “Ex-boyfriend sues Lady Gaga for $35 million” shouts out loud and bold in the CNN news.

Songwriter-producer Rob Fusari sued the pop star for $35 million claiming he was ditched after the singer became famous. The  ex-boyfriend said he transformed Stefani Germanotta into “Lady Gaga” and switched her rock riffs into dance beats to give her songs commercial appeal.

Lady Gaga, one of the world’s hottest recording acts, won two Grammys this year for her debut album.

Fusari’s lawsuit also explained Lady Gaga’s stage name, which came by accident. He received a text message on his cell phone which was supposed to read “Radio Ga Ga,” named after the Queen song. However, it was changed by the spell check on his cell phone to “Lady GaGa.” He said, “Germanotta loved it and Lady Gaga was born.”

Lady Gaga’s published reaction on the lawsuit, “We have no comment.”

Now, it’s the ladies turn, as the Washington D.C.  distributed female condoms. It was the first city in the United States to distribute free female condom and they will have them available in beauty salons, convenience stores and high schools in parts of the city with high HIV rates.

This is the city’s shift in empowering the women to have the choice in protecting themselves from HIV and STDs when their partners refuse to use protection.
