I don’t see anything wrong with this picture of Lindsey Vonn on the SI cover? Do you?

Lindsey Vonn is now known as the America’s best woman skier ever, and it goes without saying that she’s got the face to boot. A great combination, I must say.

But as Yahoo! Sports reports, some parties do take exception to the pose, and quoted womansportstalk.com as saying:

Vonn is first a GREAT athlete, but she also represents norm of feminine attractiveness. The combination of athleticism and attractiveness make Vonn the likely poster girl of the US Olympic Team, and the media hasn’t disappointed in constructed her as such.

Not to be left out, Sports Illustrated is featuring Vonn on their Feb. 8, 2010 cover. For those of you who follow SI Covers, know that female athletes are RARELY featured on the cover.

Over the last 60 years researchers have shown that about 4% of all SI covers have portrayed women.

When females are featured on the cover of SI, they are more likely than not to be in sexualized poses and not in action-and the most recent Vonn cover is no exception.

Just because Sports Illustrated featured a lady on its cover does not mean it is sending sexual overtures, does it?

Fresh from his victory over Miguel Cotto last Sunday, the undisputed pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is still hounded with news about her rumored affair with actress Krista Ranillo.

During Pacquiao’s fight last Sunday, Ranillo was said to be in Las Vegas too to watch the fight, but she wasn’t spotted there.

Interesting though, was director-actress Gina Alajar’s status on her Facebook account which reads: “If I am Jinkee Pacquiao I will not give up Manny… Krista Ranillo is not at all worth it!”

Alajar and former husband Michael de Mesa ended their marriage in 2001 after rumors of  De Mesa and Ranillo’s affair broke out.

Alajar however, refused to comment further on the issue between Pacquiao and Ranillo.

Ranillo, denied all allegations about her. She and Pacman however, are doing a movie together called “Wapakman.”  She is also the resident sex columnist of Maxim Philippines, where she was also the cover back March 2009.

Pacquiao, in an earlier interview replied “No Comment” when he was asked about his rumored affair with Ranillo. Manny and wife Jinky was said to be not in speaking terms during the fight with Cotto.

Let’s hope that this controversy doesn’t get in the way of the pound-for-pound king in his preparation for his upcoming fight with Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

The women of World 10-ball Open Championship

Suddenly, I got interested in billiards!

And I got to thank Shanelle Lorraine for making the game more exciting!

Not that the other ladies in 10-ball Women’s Billiard Championship are less-than exciting. But finding out she has Filipino blood in her really makes me wanna root for her… of course aside from the obvious.

But Shanelle won’t be having it easy definitely, with Jeanette Lee and Allison Fisher also in the list it is sure one hell of a tournament.

There’s just one simple problem though….
